There’s a thick book on various “removal wars” that happened before payment was implemented. It also contains a few examples afterwards to try and show off how well the law works (completely ignoring the fact that said “removal wars” continue to this day, now just with added complexity).

I’m not proud to say I have read the entire thing. But it was one of the only things available to me back when I was learning to read and write.
